So what will I be baking? Original NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies, of course! Quite honestly, it doesn’t get much better than that. Our dark chocolate morsels (made with 53% cacao) are just now making their way onto grocery shelves, so this Bake Sale will be a great opportunity to give them a try!
But I will be baking these cookies my way, with a little less butter (they thave a bigger hit of chocolate, come out a little chewier and are oh so pretty!). For those who prefer their cookies without nuts, there will be cookies with and without nuts.
Original NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients for 4 dozen cookies:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 2/3 cups (10-oz. pkg.) NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Dark Chocolate Morsels
- 1 cup chopped nuts*
Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 375° F.
COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
BAKE for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.
*If omitting nuts, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour.
